"If somebody's hurt, act like it's your family member. Act like it's someone you care about because you do."
Adam L. Shapiro is the founder of Adam L. Shapiro & Associates, P.C., located in Forest Hills, New York. With over two decades of experience in civil litigation, Adam has represented both plaintiffs and defendants, providing him with a comprehensive perspective that enhances his advocacy for clients.
Born in Utopia, New York, Adam is the son of Harvey Shapiro, a Sony Music senior executive, and Madeleine Shapiro, a teacher. He graduated with honors from Jamaica High School in 1986, receiving a Presidential Award of Excellence and a Regents Scholarship. In 1990, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the State University of New York at Albany, with double minors in Philosophy and Criminal Justice. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law in 1993.
Early in his career, Adam practiced criminal defense in Florida before transitioning to insurance litigation, representing clients such as Lloyd’s of London and Harley Davidson. This experience provided him with valuable insights into defense strategies, which he now leverages to benefit his personal injury clients. In 1994, he founded his own firm, focusing on accident and injury claims, workers’ compensation matters, and Social Security disability claims.
Adam is admitted to practice in New York and Florida, as well as before the United States Supreme Court and multiple federal district courts. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
