Evan Schiller, a former PGA professional golfer, has established himself as a premier golf course photographer over the past twenty-five years.
His journey into photography began in 1986 during the California Open at PGA West, where the desert landscape inspired him to purchase a camera and capture the beauty he encountered on his travels. While serving as an Assistant Professional at Westchester Country Club in New York, a friend’s suggestion to sell his photographs in the Pro Shop led him to discover his talent for capturing the essence of golf courses through his lens.
Transitioning from a successful teaching and playing career, Evan combined his deep understanding of golf with his artistic eye, embarking on a path that would see him photograph over 600 championship courses worldwide. His portfolio includes renowned venues such as Pebble Beach Golf Links, Augusta National Golf Club, The Old Course at St. Andrews, and Royal County Down. His work has been featured in esteemed publications like The Masters Journal, The US Open Magazine, and LINKS Magazine.
Evan’s approach to photography is meticulous and innovative. Equipped with a Hasselblad H6D-50 and a DJI Inspire 2 drone, he captures stunning images from various perspectives, including ground level, aerial lifts, and drone shots. Recognizing the creative potential of drone photography early on, Evan obtained his FAA license and honed his skills to capture unique angles that showcase the architecture and natural beauty of golf courses. He carefully scouts each hole, aiming to be in the right place at the right time to utilize light as his artistic paintbrush, creating inspiring photographs that highlight the courses’ design and surroundings.
Evan Schiller’s passion for golf and photography has culminated in a distinguished career, producing images that resonate with golf enthusiasts and professionals alike, and contributing significantly to the visual documentation of the sport’s most iconic venues.
